We are looking for indoor pig and poultry farmers!
Just Farmers enables farmers to use their voice for positive change in UK farming; giving farmers and growers the confidence to tell their stories with pride, connecting them with the media.
We provide fully-funded Media Education workshops to farmers, aimed at boosting your confidence and communication skills, as well as improving your understanding of how the media works - and we are still in need of some indoor pig and poultry producers to apply for our next round of workshops this December and next February.
Together we explore the relationship between the public and the media, develop your news sense, and deliver practical workshops run by industry professionals with introductions to TV, Radio, Podcasting, Writing, Filming on Your Phone and Social Media.
Every successful applicant attends one workshop in the city and one in the country, each workshop lasts two days.
There are 12 spaces per workshop, representing every agricultural sector;
- Arable
- Organic
- Dairy (housed)
- Dairy (grass-based)
- Pigs (indoor)
- Pigs (outdoor)
- Poultry (indoor/enriched colony)
- Poultry (free-range)
- Beef
- Sheep
- Horticulture
- Smallholding / market garden
So that's one space for an indoor pig farmer and one space for an indoor poultry farmer.
Once our farmers have completed their Media Education, they will then become part of our diverse network of independent farmers who are ready and willing to share their stories with the media.
Founder, Anna Jones said: “At Just Farmers, we are working to build more open and constructive relationships between farmers and the consumer, via the media, based on the contacts and professional relationships that we help to build.”
“Being a part of Just Farmers gives farmers the chance to meet other farmers and growers that you would never normally meet. Our groups build strong bonds of friendship and support each other through the process and learn from one another.”
