Just Farmers at Communicate 2023
We were excited to attend our first Communicate annual conference this year, with Just Farmers' founder Anna Jones participating as a guest speaker.
Appearing alongside BBC Rural Affairs Editor Dimitri Houtart and farmer Humphrey Lloyd on a panel that was chaired by Pete Williams from the Soil Association, Anna discussed the need for better relationships between farmers and the media, and how we at Just Farmers are helping to raise the profile of voices within the industry through media education.
Taking place in Bristol, the event which has been running since 2004, brings together a diverse group of delegates each year to develop their skills, share best practices and debate the latest issues in science communication, nature conservation and engaging people with the natural world.
The theme for this year's conference was 'Together for Nature', and Anna's session 'Farming and the Media: Stories and Voices' was one of forty sessions that were held across three days of the conference.
