Has anyone else ever done this before?
It's a first for Just Farmers!
The first time we've ever taken twelve farmers to Birmingham city centre.
The home of Black Sabbath, Cadbury's chocolate, the Spaghetti Junction and now... the training ground for our twelfth group of farmers!
A huge thank you to St Paul's school, nursery, community centre and city farm in Balsall Heath for letting us hold our workshop at your venue. Together St Paul's is a fantastic organisation that works to provide fairer and brighter future for communities in and around Birmingham.
And another big thank you to everyone who collaborated with us on this workshop - Media Educators Andrew Edwards and Andy Sykes who delivered fantastic sessions on ethics in journalism and helped our farmers really connect with their stories, and Kendra Hall from Twig who ran an Engage™ workshop for our farmers on day two, challenging them to communicate through curiosity.
And to our amazing group of farmers - where all twelve sectors of the industry were represented, from dairy to poultry, pigs, arable, horticulture and beyond (including a game farmer and a city farmer who farms in the centre of London!) you're a great crop (pardon the pun!)
Well done to all of you for stepping out your comfort zone, listening and leaving any judgement at the door and thank you for coming on this journey with us - we look forward to meeting again in a month's time in December!
